Emme, a former model, has been traveling the country to promote "BodyBeUtiful," which will have its debut at the third annual New York Women & Fashion Film Festival Nov. 12-14.
“What if you work up, if you go out and cherish your body, would life be different?” she asked.
With a crew of Columbia University interns, Emme has collected comments from 100 or so women from around New York City who share their experiences and opinions on body image. They then promote a social media call-to-action with the hashtag #BodyBeaUtiful.
Emme, one of People Magazine’s 50 most beautiful people in 1994, continues to work on projects that help young designers experiment with pieces for Fashion Without Limits - projects for women who wear sizes 2 - 22.
She's worn some of the pieces to red-carpet events.
“It’s a younger generation coming around," Emme told Daily Voice. "People are perfectly imperfect. It’s time for people to take good care of themselves but stop making other lives miserable.”
